It may have many names (the large intestine, the bowel or the colon) - but we still avoid talking about it, regarding it as a topic best left alone. This is an essential organ - vital to the healthy functioning of the whole body, but we still do not give it the attention it deserves.
Ignoring it can affect your whole healthy - below are three reasons why you should reconsider your colon.
1. Detoxification - we are constantly bombarded with healthy eating regimes and diets, but will they work if we are not correctly eliminating toxins from the bowel?
If you have toxin build up in the bowel there is the chance that the body will reabsorb this through the intestinal wall and then it will be carried around the body by the blood. This defeats the object of detox through diet.
2. Digestive efficiency - The digestive tract has an important job. When you eat good, healthy food digestion helps the nutrients to be absorbed and the toxins and excesses to be eliminated.
Sounds simple - but if it goes wrong what will happen? In short, your efforts will be wasted. Successful nutrition requires maintenance of the whole digestive tract.
3. Long term health - Aging can be scary, but what if we could make it easier on ourselves? There are several complaints which are a direct result of inefficient digestion and expulsion.
A good example is Diverticulitis - this is a painful condition which is avoidable through efficient cleansing of the colon. Prevention is better than cure.
If you want to look after your health then you do not have to head to expensive clinics for treatments.
It is now possible to buy home kits online which are easy to use and effective. At the end of the day we have to take responsibility for our health and lifestyles.

Despite this, there remains a lot of information about our bodies that just does not get discussed often enough. In terms of diet, many doctors agree that the colon health is just as important as any other aspect of weight loss. Many colon disorders can eventually arise from a lack of attention being paid to this organ. Over time, poor diet can cause blockages and plaque buildup along the walls of the colon, which will eventually decrease its efficiency, and slow down our metabolic rates. All of that excess matter that is not being processed or burned off has nowhere to go but our gut. One of the reasons that high levels of fiber are recommended in the American diet is because of its ability to help keep the colon clean and free of obstruction, to help to counter weight gain and the possibility of dangerous colon disorders.
Colon parasites enter the body by the mouth through infested food or water, mosquitoes, sexual contact, or enter through the nose. Once they infiltrate a host, they have methods of obtaining sustenance; they can eat your food or have you for supper. People with malnutrition or in poor health are especially vulnerable to colon parasites. Parasites vary in size; some may be so small that they cannot be seen without a microscope; others, like whale tapeworms, may reach one hundred feet upon maturity.
